DEAR GENTLE DAYS
This series is a diary of my walks after a neurological disorder diagnosis.
On bad days, the simple act of walking outside becomes physically difficult.
Symptoms include heightened sensitivity to lights, sounds, smells, motion intolerance and intense head pain.
As part of treatment, I go for frequent walks as a way to rewire my brain by exposing myself to the very triggers that make me sick.
Incrementally, I am venturing out further and staying out longer, taking photographs to bring back to paint as a badge of honor for making it out.
These landscapes held me as I endured through discomfort, and in them I found traces of comfort in the chaos.
Whatever you’re going through, I hope these quiet scenes bring you some comfort as well.
